Keeping the Construction Industry Going

The construction industry has struggled a bit in recent years. This is not because there's not amazing technology out there to make construction easier. There's tons of technology, and it's amazing! Rather, the struggle seems to be that there is a shortage of labor. Many young people are not as interested in working in construction anymore. We hope that we can do our part to change that. In posting on this blog, we hope to reach a wide audience, including young people who may want to work as contractors. There are excellent jobs in the industry, and learning the basics on this blog can set you up for success.

Know What Is Typically Included In A Well Water Servicing Checklist

Having a private water well is a great way to become water independent and reduce or potentially eliminate monthly water bills from your local municipality. That said, becoming completely independent of municipal water means you have to regularly look after your water well.

Water well servicing refers to a combination of tasks that should be performed regularly to guarantee a clean and reliable water supply from your water well. Check out the various activities typically included in water well servicing checklists and why they are essential.

Checking the Water Level

Monitoring the water level in your private well is essential for many reasons. Firstly, it can help you track changes in the water table across the year, allowing you to have a better understanding of how your well responds to different seasons and weather conditions.

Secondly, it helps you catch and address water supply issues in time, minimizing the risk of expensive repairs later. Additionally, it allows you to manage your water better as you can know how much water is available in your well.

Testing the Water Quality

The water in your private well can become contaminated due to various factors, such as aging infrastructure, close proximity to septic systems, use of toxic lawn care products, and the bacteria, parasites, and viruses present in the soil and groundwater.

Always test your well water quality to ensure it is safe for drinking and other intended uses.

Cleaning the Well

Like swimming pools, private water wells can get dirty over time and will require cleaning. As part of regular water well servicing, it's important to clean and disinfect the well to remove any built-up contaminants that can reduce the water quality and render it unsafe for consumption.

Inspecting Water Well Equipment

Private water wells use water pumps and other essential pieces of equipment to bring water to the surface level. Unfortunately, the equipment can become damaged due to regular use and result in unexpected downtime.

Routine water well inspections can help you identify and fix damage early, preventing interruptions to your water supply due to equipment failure.

Responding to Emergencies

No matter how well you maintain your water well, it can develop issues at any time. Whether your water level is dropping fast during a drought or you have a broken pump, your water well servicing plan should include ensuring quick responses to your emergency situations.

Working on water wells is complex and inherently dangerous. Without proper training and specialized equipment, you may not do it safely and correctly.

Consider leaving your water well servicing to the professionals. For more information, contact a company like Valley Pump Co.
